Well, i had my fuelpump replaced by pepboys not too long ago (not by choice) and i lost my fuelgauge and the pump whines costantly. Ive got vette injectors waiting for me to install them but i just dont have the $$ to take care of em. Just to clarify when i mean no throttle response i mean literally when i hit the gas it feels like the F.I. is working backwards, absolutely no acceleration @ all. Also having hard starts.

I has a similar prob, the car ran great as long as you didn't press the gas down to far otherwise it would completly fall on its face (like it was shutting off) until I lifted. Turned out to be a bad ECM

Why don't you just install the injectors yourself? Its really very easy. You just remove the plenum, runners, and fuel rails.
Did this problem just happen out of the blue, or did you do something beforehand?

I dunno, i got a feeling that its the ECM (just my luck). Now ive got another GTA with a bad motor. same year. now would there be a problem with me usin the ECM from that one just to find out if its the problem??
No problem to switch the ecm withthe same year.
But I would get the fuel pressure checked out first cause I had a pump replaced and 2 days later it went bad again!
Thank goodnes I took it back right away and got it fixed under warrenty. Just a word of advice.
The other thing I would do is replace the fuel filter. There may have been some dirt or stuff in the tank that was stirred up and clogged the filter alittle. I also had this type of a problem too. It would idle fine but try to accelerate and it wouldn't. It was the fuel filter, it was some how clogged but it was able to pass enough gas to idle and run the car slighty.
Just a few ideas for you to try to check.
Good Luck!

Possible the MAF, mine went south and never posted a code. Just a suggestion though.

K, Switched ECM's and fuel Filter. Also switched MAF's from my other GTA which ran fine. after i get the car past 2000 rpm's she acctually has some power. I havent set the TPS or IAC just wondering if this would help if i did. also im picking up a FP tester tomorrow. just wondering what it should read.

I just bought a 91 GTA. I had a similar problem. To make a long story short. I traced it down to a bad pick up coil and incorrect timing. To check this leave the ECM hooked up and put a timing light on the car. If the pick up is bad the timing will bounce around at idle. If you give it a little gas and hold it the timing will straighten out.
I put on a new pick up coil along with new wires cap rotor and coil and my buddies were in aw at the power I had found.

well i set my TPS and adjusted my IAC, got a Fuel Pressure gauge and the pump primes at 25 PSI when it should be around 34-50 somethin. im gonna swap the FP from my other car and see if that works. if not then i guess i'll be going back to the auto parts store and watch the parts counter guy's eyes light up from all the way at the end of the store. lol, thank *** my dad just gave me a CC with a $1400 limit on it.
