I am having this problem and i cant seem to figure it out. I am runnning amazingly rich. I cant keep it runnning unless my foot is on the pedal some. I did get it to idle great, but then i checked my timing and it was up to 50*. This made me realize I had to be dumping fuel in the motor because it took 50* to burn off the fuel right?


As of right now i lost my old maf and borrowed a buddies. It looks in bad condition and I was wonderig if the maf is bad or the maf relay is bad, could it cause my injectors to be spewing fuel into the intake? I checked my plugs and theyre pig black.

My injectors are brand new, but i di cut the injector wires because i was starting the megasquirt setup, but i decided to stay stock for now. When i rewired the injector wires i didnt know which wire went to the exact one, which shouldnt matter as long as they are on the right bank

What are some signs of a bad

 

Two things:

24# injectors will run rich. Did you reset injector constant in the eprom?

And all eight injectors fire (spray) at every 4th distributor pulse (double fire).

There are 2 fuses, 2 banks (4 injectors each), 8 (12 volt) power wires, 8 ground wires, and one "short to ground, to fire" ECM driver.

 

Alright I understand the 24# injectors, but I have been running them like that for a while. I was curious as long as I wired the 4 injectors on one bank to the wires on the one side in no specific order it was okay.

 

I Have the exact same problem and can not work it out.
I have changed all sorts with no luck at all, Mine starts then runs really rich you can smell it also smokes with it..I pulled the whole thing apart today even unloomed the whole loom for problems there..If you figure it out please let me know if i do first i will you..Checkout chevythunder.com for clues or ecm wiring fo your injectors.

Do a search on "wrong ecm" (Tech boards TPI). It is a resent post and has the wiring diagram listed.
