Re: What do I need to by to complete the build?
You should change your valve springs on those s/r heads to handle the lift and aggressiveness of that XFI cam. Those cams like spring pressure. I'd run a Beehive spring or a good dual spring like AFR's 8017/8019's or Patriot's Gold/Extreme gold dual springs. There are some other springs that could work too tho.
I dont know if those heads will like that high lift either so run 1.5 rockers to keep lift down on that cam. run comp magnums for strength.
Inspect your lifters to see if they are in good shape. they need to be for that build, that cam will hammer those lifters and you need to run better springs to handle that cam lobe.
Pushrods you should measure once the heads are installed and see what length you need. Chances are may just need stock size. But definately get new ones, strong ones too for the spring pressures you should run
Base/Runner gaskets you may get away with using edlebrock highflow gaskets
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...6&autoview=sku
you will need intake manifold gaskets, probly felpro 1205's. Or use rightstuff liquid gasket.
head gaskets, you should look into running a coated steel shim for those heads. .015 compressed thickness. Felpro 1094 i think it is, but its a large bore setup, 4.1 " i believe not sure how good that be with a 305 so maybe run the mr gasket .028 inch setup. You want it thin since your pistons are in the hole and your using iron. keep your quench height good.

Re: What do I need to by to complete the build?
I see you edited the post above so looking at the list, well most of it i consider necessary for best results.
may i suggest a slightly different camshaft if you plan to keep TPI and those heads without doing much work to the heads? XFI is nice, but for reasons i mentioned in another one of your threads, i think there are better choices for this build and those heads.
I'm not sure of the spring specs on those heads, i'll have to look them up. But similar duration is fine, just less lift and less aggressive profile. comp cams 502 is a nice grind. 218/224 justlike the xfi, but abit less lift, just around .500 which is safe on your heads. I guess you already got the 268XFI cam tho? not a problem we can get that to work. Just gotta match those springs and run 1.52 rockers like you plan to keep that lift down abit.
I'd run ATLEAST 135lbs seat pressure for that cam. Your stock springs are set to 100lbs at 1.81 installed height, but i'm not sure of your installed height on that head. no big deal tho, they wont work no matter what height you set them up to. Spring pockets are able to accept a 1.44 inch spring so you can use something like that.
here's what i'd do, Comp 987 springs for 90 bucks
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
Get matching retainers/locks for it.
Measure your installed height of your stock s/r head springs to see what they are at. May need to get a valve spring micrometer for 40 bucks to do this accurately. Once you determine that, possibly get set of shims.

Try to get installed height of 1.755 or so. NO shorter than 1.750 tho. No taller than 1.765. that will give you 133-139lbs on the seat for that cam.
You may beable to save a few bucks with the rockers buy getting them from a seller on ebay

171 bucks shipped but you still need pushrods, which are 30 or so from summit for oem style replacements by comp cams. saves you atleast 15 bucks or so
Timing chain, just run a good oem style double roller replacement. You can get them for under 150 bucks
YOU will need new injectors too, atleast 22lb's from a 350 but i'd be safe and run 24's. Try to find them used with low mileage to save cash, but you get what you pay for sometimes
Motor will need a tune as well
consider your options for that, mail order chips or do your own or take it somewhere for someone to do it
Lifters, stock may work ok if they are in good shape but i'd like atleast new comp replacements or LS7 lifters which you can get for 100 bucks now adn they work just fine.
head bolts, i like ARP but you can reuse stock to save money.
header gasket and bolts i dont know, i'm still trying to get that sorted out for my build

Re: What do I need to by to complete the build?
I have 24lb injectors coming in the mail.
I also changed the cam to a xr276hr-12. Do I still need springs? Also can I use the 1.6 rockers I allready bought or do I still need to get 1.52s with this new cam?

i would still get new springs if you use that cam and 1.6 rockers. Same comp 987 springs would do well, but you probly wont need to shim them up as much if at all.

This is probably the best spring to use since its EXACTLY the same size as the stock s/r springs.

When I get these springs is there anything else I "need" to get to make them work? Like retainers? Or will the old ones work?

For 10 bucks a piece your better off buying beehive springs
they arent the same size either, your stock ones should be 1.25 inch in diameter while the upgraded ones are 1.437 inch
Comp 987's are cheaper springs but will do the same thing as those springs.
but yes, you will need a retainer for 1.437" dual springs. your stock world ones are 1.25 inch so the retainer wont fit
