Runners

I replaced my valve cover gaskets, I had to remove my Runners but when I put them back I could not get two screws in.I started the car and it struggled to start, I left it on for awile and it slowly started to decelerate more and more then it would accelerate and decelerate some more. It never did that before, Is it because of the missing screws? If not what could it be?

Sounds like a big vacuum leak, get the bolts back in- problem solved. Either that, or you have a loose nut behind the wheel.

Ok, I got one bolt all the way in and the other one just goes halfway in, the same thing is still happening. Could the bolt that is only halfway in cause the vacuum leak?

You could also have a torn runner gasket. A surging idle is one symptom of a vacuum leak.

Check all your other vaccum hoses, its most likely not the bolt I have about 4 missing bolts and mine only surges when I have a hose disconnected.

sounds like you need to pull the runners back off and use a tap in the bolt holes, either that or use a ****load of washers if there is enough room.

It's been a while since I've had the runners off a tpi car, but, I sure that there are different lenght bolts and you probably used the shorter ones where the long ones belong, and are now trying to put long ones where the short ones belong . . .
