Re: 19lb injectors from a 89 mustang...good?

I'm not sure, but I think 19# injectors all flow the same regardless of the make. My understanding is that the number is the amount of fuel they flow.the higher the #, the greater the flow rate. The only differance might be the Ohms, which could cause drivability issues.

Re: 19lb injectors from a 89 mustang...good?

thanks, but coming up with cute names for mousesangs is not what i had in mind. its just that i read somewhere that they actually out performed and out flowed what came stock on the LB9's. well at least ford did one thing right....they circled the problem

i did a lot of research before buying my injectors. Jon from FIC spent an hour explaining things. i might not have it all down but i will try to remember.
first of all Ford does not make an injector.. They use Bosch to make the early stang 19's and now seimens make the new ones. However ford uses rail pressure of 37-39 when they came out with the first yellowtop injector back in the early 80's. these injectors flowed a little over 19 at that pressure. at our pressure they flow a little over 21. the stock 305 injector is 19 lbs .. the o2 sensor will compensate for the difference. On the 350 these injectors flow the same as the stock multec which also is a little under 22. All i know is that since i put the bosch design III's in my car--it runs great. I can honestly tell you that these are much better than I thought they would be. They are easy to install and really worth the 169 for the whole set.
i got them at www.fuelinjectorconnection.com

Re: 19lb injectors from a 89 mustang...good?

I got mine off ebay, for $65 shipped. They've been cleaned and came with new o-rings (although I used GM o-rings). I'm not positive that these are the same ones that would come on an 89 mustang, but I think they are. They are 19# bosch ford design 3, with the 4 hole nozzle. They fit very nicely, just make sure and use the injector clips to put them into the fuel rail. They're slightly shorter than the GM ones, and without the clips, they will go too far up into the fuel rail. Here's what they look like installed:

I haven't run them yet, I'm putting the engine back together today. irocuroc hit the nail on the head too about the rating differences, ford runs them at a lower pressure. I'm putting these on my 305, hopefully the o2 sensor will adjust for them, until I can tune for higher flow injectors.

If it makes you feel any better, technically they are bosch parts, it just so happens that ford uses them

why re tune they are design II bosch injectors not 3. they will work fine the way they are. The only problem is that the injector is a design from 1985..the design 3 is way superior, and they a quiet. those are noisy// heres what a design 3 Bosch looks like

Re: 19lb injectors from a 89 mustang...good?

I am looking for sum good injectors, I have a holley stealth ram and the TPI injectors are too tall. I want 24 lb. The harness I bought has a different style connector for the injectors, any help?

Re: 19lb injectors from a 89 mustang...good?

I called Jon jr and got ALL the info I needed, they are experts at what they do, I ordered the design 3 for 169.00, with a three year warranty, they are Bosh 60mm EV6 connectors, thanks for the info.

Re: 19lb injectors from a 89 mustang...good?

I've been running a set of 19# Bosch/SVO injectors for couple years now. No problems at all.
They supposedly have a better spray pattern, and the junk yards are full of them, cheap.

Re: 19lb injectors from a 89 mustang...good?

When I ordered my harness from Affordable fuel injection, they built the harness with the EV6 connectors, with injectors to match. I also found out that 24lb injectors are too big for my ride.
