Re: LB9

TPI or TBI.

Tuned port = rocks socks

TBI = get smoked by a civic.

Re: LB9

Or..if it's auto or manual. Auto is the 205 HP, manual is the 225 HP.

Re: LB9

Look at the tac. The LB9 that got the cam from the L98 will have the yellow line at 5000 RPM and red at 5500 RPM.

Re: LB9

The cat could of been replaced... as with my 91 formula... it had 1 when I got it, but after checking the vin with a dealer, I was told it was originally 2 cat...

It's a 5 speed tpi, so it has the L98 cam... and fun too

Re: LB9

Ok an argument will start here considering some say my 91 auto lb9 got the l98 cam and some will say it got the peanut cam regardless of what the tach says.

Re: LB9

All the L03's are TBI with the "peanut cam" and 170 HP.

The 205 HP 305 TPI's have a single cat system and a 2.25" cat-back exhaust, same as the TBI engines. The 230 HP 305 TPI's have the dual cat system and a 2.75" cat-back, same as the 350 engines.

Re: LB9

oh so the reason why TBI is slow much slower is just the cam pretty much?

More the exhaust than the cam.
