Being as this thing looks radical compared to anything else iv seen, Edelbrock etc. Im wondering how it performs, does it move around the powerband or does it work good for making power in the regular RPM ranges? all info would be much appreciated.

If you're talking about the super ram, from what I've seen it leaves that torque curve you love and raises the rpms a whole lot if you give it room to breath. Im talking good power from 2000-6000rpm. I would match it up with a cam that makes power in that area, I recently took mine off when I switched engines around, and Im now selling it on ebay. Heres a word of advice, NO NO NO on a 305. (if anyone was thinking of this)

I don't have any answers for ya, but I've been looking at it too. But with someone like Lingenfelter behind it I'm sure it would kick some serious @$$. Before this I was looking at the Edelbrock Hi-flow TPI, then I read the name 'John Lingenfelter' and I changed my mind. I actually think it's less expensive than the others too. Well, anyway, I'll just give you a bump.

I highly recommend the Superram. Just got it on my car along w/ a shload of other stuff and I love it. NOTHING is even tuned yet and it rips from 4000 rpm to 6000. The low end torque isn't bad either.
Looking at your mods, I'd get some headers first and if you have anything under 3.23 gears, I'd buy some new ones, probably 3.42's. If you are like most people and buy parts one at a time, I'd get headers, gears, then some good heads, then Superram and a matching cam. You should get a higher stall TQ converter somewhere in there too. If you just put the SR on w/ stock exhaust manifolds, heads and cam, I think you'd be disappointed. If you read the new GM High Tech this month, they have an article about a guy named Tory Hess (is he on this board?, if so DAMN nice car!) Anyway, he runs 10.00 @ 140 now, but one of his first mods was a SR and he was disappointed with it, I think mainly b/c nothing else he had matched it too well.

In that case, I still highly recommend it. Very good up to 6000 rpm. It was designed w/ a little shorter and bigger diameter runners than the stock tpi so that it can breathe at higher rpm's (look at the FAQ's on this site under induction for an actual numbers comparo). You'll also notice the stock tpi starts running out of breathe around 4800-5000 rpm's. The SR shines from 4000 to 6000 rpm's. It's the best intake we have to keep low-end TQ and still rev the engine a little. Install is a pain, but I really can't say enough about it. I do recommend the LPE 219 cam too, it's matched to the SR.

So you think it is a no-no for a 305? What about one with some new cams, lifters, rockers, highflow exhaust(headers and catback)etc?

The Superram would probably work better with a 350, but you'd still see good gains. The best cam to match it with (if the rest of the motor is built to match) is the Lingenfelter 74219 hydraulic roller unit. It was designed for the Superram. I have the combo, and I wouldn't trade it!
