Hey guys I'm installing an SLP air foil soon and since I will be removing the Throttle body plate on my TPI setup to do the install, there is a chance that the gasket will need to be replaced. I ordered a new polished throttle body plate off Ebay, but it didn't come with a gasket. I was wondering if there was any place in particular that would have this gasket.

Seems like no GM dealers have it anymore, nor do the parts stores I've checked. The only way to get it seems to be to order an entire throttle body gasket kit which is $30 and seems like ALOT of cash for what is probably just a 50 cent gasket that I need.

 

I'm going to be installing a hypertech air foil soon and would also like to know incase I have to replace my gasket.

 

I'm pretty sure the gasket will look like brand new when you take it off. It's dry all the time, no oil or anything on it. Mine was fine when I pulled the TB off.

 

I need one too, can't find it anywhere!

I bought a Fel-Pro gasket kit from Napa for $16. It included throttle body gasket, intake plenum gasket and runner gaskets. Most automotive stores should have them too. Not sure if you can buy just the throttle body gasket by itself. When I removed my throttle body from the plenum, the gasket was in good shape. I replaced the gasket anyways since I had the new ones. You may not need to replace them as mentioned above. Btw gasket only fits one way or bolts don't tighten up 100%. Just look at how gasket is attached existing when replacing. Not a big deal just annoying to mess around with the bolts more than once.

 

I ended up buying a TB gasket kit from TPI Parts, $16 including shipping so I guess it's all good lol.

 

Autozone has a throttle body gasket kit that comes with several gaskets including the one you want. It also comes with an EGR valve gasket FYI.

If I remember right, I think it's between $10-$15.
