Heads to use...
OK, I have thought about getting heads for my car. i have the SLP cam 51000 so I called SLP, & asked them which heads would be best match for my cam... they had no clue... I also asked them about my 1 3/4" SLP headers & which heads they recommend. the guy came back with a set of heads from a GTA, well I know there is no difference between any of the heads used on 350's from 87-92 on F-bodies.
I suggested the Vortech, & he thought it might not work... i think the guy was a little dense personally.
So, what I want to know is what (non-stock) heads have any of you used with your SLP headers?

He may think that the cam won't work with the Vortec heads, due to the lift...IIRC the Vortecs in stock form, only take about .450-.470in lift, otherwise they need the bosses cut down.

I have SLP 1 3/4 headers and Edelbrock Performer RPM heads with angle plugs. The exhaust ports and header ports match up perfectly but I have zero plug clearance. I believe the L98 angle plug and straight plug AFR's don't have any port alignment/plug clearance problems.

SLP states that Angle plugs will not work with their heads, but it is interesting to know that someone is actually using them with their headers...
What did you do? install the plugs & then put the headers on?
thanks...

When I say I have zero plug clearance I mean I have zero plug clearance
The plugs touch the headers. All I can say is.....SLP is right. Once I got my engine back together I had use the stock manifolds
The manifolds barely fit. Since I have the engine out again, I'm going to try to make them fit by.......
1) Dimpling headers
2) Short plugs
3) Doubling up the gaskets
It was an oversight on my part. SLP mentions it in all their literature.
