SuperRam/HSR/Mini Ram/BBK

I am think about change my intake setup on my IROC. My current intake setup is Accel lower intake, Accel runner, stock plenum, Accel 58mm throttle body all ported and polished. I can either buy the Accel super ram plenum and runner and us my Accel lower intake but I don't know if I can use my stock fuel rail or I can buy a HSR looks like the best TPI intake for the money or I can pay $1200.00 for a mini ram and fuel rail or wait for the BBK intake to come out. Which one make the most power? My car now has a 355 in it but I am going to put a forged steel crank and rods in it or I will probably built a forged 406 and spray it with a 200 shot of nitrous. So I need a intake that will work well with a 406 and nitrous. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

HSR or Miniram, but since the miniram is rather expensive my vote goes to HSR.

Superram is a nice steet intake but a PITA to install.

There is a dyno comparison of all theese intakes here https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tpi/...feb-super.html

Thanks! I think I will go with the HSR or wait and see how much power the BBK intake makes. My car is street/strip so I want the most horsepower for the money.

Re: SuperRam/HSR/Mini Ram/BBK

I don't mind to wait a while for the BBK intake to come out. I am just know getting all the parts together for my forged 406 build up, so far I have had the 400 block checked, cleaned, bored 0.30 over. I have also bought a Eagle 4340 forged steel crank and Eagle splayed main caps just have to take the block to the machine shop and have them installed. I am going to order Eagle 4340 H-beam rods and SRP piston in a few weeks then get the rest of the stuff to put it together. So it is going to be this winter before I get it in my car so I can wait to see how much power the BBK intake make. If it make more than the Mini Ram I am going buy one of them if not I will buy a Mini Ram. Does anyone know how much power the BBK intake will make on a stock motor?

I don't know it's never been ran with out the nitrous. I hope it will run 11.5 or 11.7 on motor with the 406 and some where in the 10's with the 200 shot of nitrous.

HSR or Miniram would be my guess. I have enjoyed my HSR, it opened the door for many other restriction-free mods.

If money is not an issue go with the Mini Ram. Can't go wrong with that. The HSR is a good bet too though.

Re: SuperRam/HSR/Mini Ram/BBK

I need help I want to run an 800-300 holley box, crank trigger, and mallory distributor-could anybody give me some help on the wiring-I am using a 7749 ecu but would switch back to a stock tpi box if I needed to run the anihalator ign box-you can adjust your timing curve according to boost with a 3 bar map sensor with the holley setup-the engine is a 400 aluminum donavan with a sb2.2 top end and my own sheet metal tune port and twin turbo setup
If I could get heelp on the harness I would be very greatful

Re: SuperRam/HSR/Mini Ram/BBK

www.corvetteforum.com

anyway i'd go HSR since miniram i feel is WAY overpriced but its a great manifold if you can get one cheap used go for it

HSR will support your goals

I don't know it's never been ran with out the nitrous. I hope it will run 11.5 or 11.7 on motor with the 406 and some where in the 10's with the 200 shot of nitrous.
i'm doing 11.5's at 118 on motor with a 383 with a very streetable setup. cam is big but not huge, still has decent manners. On a 406 you should easily hit 11's with similar cam to mine but i'd go bigger just cuz

I'd also look into mildy porting the HSR. I'm not sure how much it helped but i ported mine to be sure it matched the AFR head ports and to be sure it flowed enough to feed this motor and so far it is doing well

more money and time as well as more PITA work then try for a superam. You'll need to really port the lower and if possible siamese the runners, port match to the base and match to the heads you'l use. Superam 406 is a 11 second setup with proper cam/heads and launch but your topend will not be as strong as HSR/miniram due to longer runners.

Re: SuperRam/HSR/Mini Ram/BBK

It all depends on what RPM range you want to make power in. If you want street driven low torque stick with what you have. If you want higher hp at higher rpm change it up. The superram makes good numbers but is too expensive and complex to make it worth it. Same story with BBK. In addition I am sceptical of BBKs gain numbers and developement. After years in R&D i would have expected better. The miniram is what i use simply because i run a charger want to avoid blowing out plenum seals and becuase they make a 1206 intake version that nobody else does. The HSR looks like the pic for you. you will need to change the fuel rail to holley and maybe change distributors but it makes good power at decent price and is simple = good. take a look at STEALTHRAM.COM and http://www.compcams.com/Community/Ar...?ID=1737510521
for some more info

I would say HSR intake. I will be getting one next year from chevythunder. And for around $600 for everything I need its the best deal.
