305 TPI issue
I've got a 305 TPI and when the engine is cold I can rev it to the redline and it runs very strong. Once the engine warms up I cant get it to go above 3500 RPM's and it occasionally sounds like it's backfiring through the intake. Once I let off the gas after it starts doing this it basically dies. Any ideas about what it might be?

Re: 305 TPI issue
I would be be thinking MAF sensor. When it's warm it's in closed loop.

What is "closed loop"? I'm new to the whole TPI scene. Also I just noticed that the fans don't come on, even after it has warmed up. Fan relay maybe but I don't know where it's located.

Fan relays are located at the battery tray in mne.
Is this a car you bought and had the running problems or did it once run fine and has just started being an issue? You can try unplugging the MAF and see how it runs.

There's more than just one coil type in all cars that can affect hoe it runs; injector, relay, alternator, fuel pump.
