New dyno run

Hi!
Today i run the car at the dyno and it was not what i hoped for.
262,5 RWHP and 372 max torque.
It just flat out at 5300rpm,the hsr chould easy go to 6000rpm,can it be that the springs dont chape up and starts to flote.
I think that i am missing about 50 rwhp here.
I am also going to install a wide band o2 to se if there is some fuel missing.
Maybe it would be better to run the 1.5 rr instead of 1.6 in combo whith the LT4 hot cam,or is it the cam that dont whant to go above 5500?
Any clue?

Re: New dyno run

I thought that the HSR would pull higher RPMs as well....
What type of lift and duration does the LT4 hot cam have anyway.....?
I would think that your cam would be the limiting factor in your case...

I ran my car on the dyno earlier this spring and it put down 198 Hp and 293Ft/Lbs of tourque. Now that's a 350 with a tiny peanut cam(179/194 .350".384" lift)/ that came in the 305's (Don't Ask Why......!) and a bunch of bolt-ons

Max Hp was at 3700 Rpm........... But it shows ya what cam duration and lift will do
That's why I'm doing the top end changes........
Good Luck

"Hooker Headers.Trickflow twisted wedge heads,LT4 Hotcam,1.6 rr, 52mm TB"

Yeah, I'd say there is something not right going on. For comparison, I have stock manifolds, stock heads, stock cam, stock rockers, and 48 mm TB (with airfoil). I pulled 228 HP but only 286 TQ.....Max HP in my case was at 4400 RPM. I thought the SuperRam and Accel intake would boost my HP more than that. Was also expecting to make peak HP at a higher RPM. The car definitely pulls better in the top end with the SR than it did with the TPI.

I'm wondering if your torque converter is messing with your dyno figures. Regardless of HP, your car sounds like a torque monster. I think you should stay with the 1.6 roller rockers. And that LT4 package was definitely meant for 5500 RPM. No problem there.

Re: New dyno run

Ok
The dyno guy think that it could be that the springs starts to float and dont have time to close before next opening.
Maybe i chould go for new springs like the LT4 or chould i go for a set of mached trickflow springs to mach the cam?
How do i now what cind of springs that will be best for my setup, the cam is good for 0-6000rpm right?

Re: New dyno run

I think that Comp Cams has an online reference, but you could always phone them..... (sorry I know that it would be expensive ) besides the fact that you have to call at 3 in the morning and probably be on hold forever.

I would make another post asking what spring pressure people are using with their LT4 setups......... You might get lucky

Re: New dyno run

I think that i am going to order a LT4 hot cam kit,how wrong can that be?
New springs and lifters to mach the LT4 cam.I alsoe taded to a man at the machine shop today, and he say that it is common to by wrong springs, they have to be tested to mach hardness, rpm and lift capasity.
