Stalling at idle

Lately my car has been stalling alot at idle and when driving. I've been playing around and found this.
I start the car the fuel pressure goes up to about 45psi, then dies. The fuel pressure goes down to 0. Once it dies the fuel pressure goes back up to about 45psi and I can start it again. So it's completely loosing fuel. When I turn the ignition to on the fuel pressure stay's steady at 45psi and slowly goes down. That makes me believe that my injectors are fine and not leaking. Could it be the FPR, or a vacuum problem?
The engine was rebuilt last year. The fuel pump, injectors, coil, cap, rotor, plugs, wires are all brand new. The car was tuned seeing as how the injectors and cam where all changed out.
And ideas? I'm not really good when it comes to fuel problems.
Also when it stalled the other day I opened the hood to find that two injectors were clicking really loud. I put my finger on them and could feel them pulsing very strongly.

Re: Stalling at idle

You should not be losing fuel pressure that fast. A quick checks:
1)Turn key on,engine off should be about 38/40PSI
2) engine started should be around 42/44 PSI at idle
3) key off & engine not running above PSI's should have a slow bleed off to zero pressure in about 1/2 hr est.

If this checks out then I would be looking for a Vaccum leak. I had one at the intake gasket and it was a bear to find. Good luck

With the key on the FP holds steady. The engine will only stay running for about 2 seconds before it dies, even if I give it alot of gas.
The fuel pressure takes about 15-20 min to bleed down to 0psi.

Re: Stalling at idle

Well I went outside to test for 12v at the fuel pump wire and it started right up and ran fine. It ran for 10min before I shut it off. The fuel pressure is holding steady still. Now I'm really lost.

Start looking for a vaccum leak, unless someone else as another opinion.

Re: Stalling at idle

I went for a ride around the block, stalled on me. I kept starting and starting it before it finally stumbled home. Stalled on me on the driveway a few times. I hit the fuel pump and it seems to help a bit.

Re: Stalling at idle

I hooked up my 12v light to the fuel pump source again and started the car.
The light will turn on while the car is running. When the car stalls the light will remain lit, and turn off about 2 seconds later. So I guess the pump is getting a good 12v source.
Seeing as how the pump dies before the light, I can assume that the fuel pump itself is bad. Correct?

Re: Stalling at idle

Try cleaning the electrical connections for the fuel pump and make sure they are tight. This would be an easier place to start before replacing the fuel pump.

Re: Stalling at idle

I've checked the electrical connections and they all seem fine. I guess it must be the fuel pump. Thanks for everyones help. I'll post back with the result.
