TPI Trottle Body Water and Vac Ports
Hi All, Im converting from carb to TPI, Can anyone identify the ports in the pics and tell me were they went to in the TPI system? Mainly how the water is routed and where did the tubes go,
Also I included a pic of the front of the lower manifold that also has two ports, looks like the lower port is for the water temp sensor that is missing, and there's a water flow port.
I found a diagram on chevythunder.com explaining the vaccum, great diagram, off it I learned that the port on the bottom of the TB that is blocked off was for the egr, another port is for the vapor canister, another for the head, and two for water. Thanks.
If someone can explain the water flow routing just like the diagram of the vacuum routing that I'll be set.

The port on the front/bottom goes to the intake manifold. The port on the side goes to the diverter valve. See this pic on my website...

Hope this helps!

COOL ! ok, I understand the intake one, but I dont have the deprter valve assembly, That's all part of the heater system right? Si I can just send a tube from the TB to the hearter core on the firewall, right? The the other tube of the heater core can go to the waterpump?

Let me try to understand something here, the whole sending the water through the TB deal was a creative way to send the water to the hearter control valve, right? If I dont want the heater, could I just plug the manifold port, and the TB ports?

One of them holes is for the ECT sensor.
I dont have a divertor valve, or lines hooked to the TB.
I ran from that nipple to the heater core. Then from the heater core to the radiator.

Re: TPI Trottle Body Water and Vac Ports
Coolant going through the throttle body keeps it from icing in cold temps. Alot of people just bypass it in warmer climates. If you dont want to send coolant through the throttle body, run a hose from the nipple on the front of the intake straight to the heater core and run a hose from the other heater core port back to the radiator. The plugged vacuum port on the bottom of your throttle body goes to the egr solinoid. The 3 nipples on the side of the throttle body are for different things. Top nipple goes to the valve cover breather on the pass side, middle nipple goes to the evap canister, and the bottom nipple is coolant inlet or outlet. That one wont be used if you do a coolant bypass and the angled one on the front of the throttle body wont be used either if you do the coolant bypass.

So since I live in Florida, (warmer climate) and I dont want the heater, I can just plug all that waterflow then.

You dont even have to plug it. Just leave it open like it is now.

I dont know if you can just plug the intake nipple. You can run a hose from that nipple straight to radiator to be safe if you dont want to use the heater core.

Im really trying to limit the custer under the hood, Im looking for a plug bolt that I can just screw in like those ones used to plug the holes in the exhaust manifold when you eliminate the egr tubing.

You should be able to get a plug bolt at your local hardware store (Ace hardware, etc).

oh, you dont even want a heater core?
Yes, that is a standard plug, should beable to find one at any local hardware store. IIRC its 1/2 pipe.
