CAI (didn't know right forum, figured ok here)
Hey all. I have the chance to buy a Cold Air Intake off of eBay for a good price but was wondering has anyone bought one before. The seller is eautotuning. I'm not sure as to the brand of the CAI but does anyone know if I should go for this? Input please!!! Thanks

I replied to your PM. In a nutshell, my EBay CAI works well, but is kinda high on the "bling" scale. Not a bad deal for $70, tho...

You could do what I did and make your own for about 20$ at Lowes.
Doesn't look too "aftermarket" I guess...

OK guys I hate to be "that guy" but........
TPI cars have the filters out in the nose away from the engine and in front of the radiator. Looks like a pretty good system as far as "cold air" goes. I dont see how putting a cone filter in your engine compartment, behind the radiator no less makes this a cold air intake. I will chuck it up the the import crowd I guess.
That cone filter in the previous post looks neat, but its definately feeding the engine warmer air than the factory set up......
The open element cone filter sounds great, improves throttle response, and generally makes a tad more power, but I still hate it when its called a cold air intake. Sure you can say its behind the headlight, but seriously, how much air comes into the the engine compartment through the radiator compared to what gets in past the headlight?

did you buy that CAI?? I bought one off ebay and it works and looks great, but I am having an issue I wonder if anyone has the same where BLM go up to 150 range at idle. I was looking into it and have a chip burner so I think maybe the MAF tables and scalars need to be modified due to the open air element vs restricted air box like factory. idk tho maybe I have some other kind of wierd issue..??
