comp 268h-10 to big for modded 305?

I have a new 268 with 224/230....477/480...110. I have a 1987 TA with TPI 305 with a MAF when the cam goes in this will be the setup..... K&N,ported tpi upper and lower, slp runners, flow matched 19lb injectors from Cruzin performance straight from the shop 0 miles, ported and polished rebuilt 601 heads with 53cc chambers,1.6 RR,airfoil, headman headers, msd 6al and coil, 2200 stall converter in a slightly modded 700r4 with 2k miles on it,aluminum drive shaft and a 3.42 pbr disc rearend. I know the 110 is going to affect vaccum but is it to much cam for the smaller sbc?

You will have a lot of tuning to do with the 110* LSA. You may want to consider the comp 264hr12.

The question is how good a tuner are you?
I think you should get a real handle on the tuning before swapping cams.

Why? You live in Chicago, home of some of the best tuners out there.
Do NOT try to get a mail order tune for a cam like that.

That's not correct.
LSA is relative.
You can only compare LSA when comparing similar duration numbers.
Your stock cam probably has at least 20* less duration.

You are not going to be happy at all with a mail order tune. You need to have that car tuned under real driving conditions using a wide band O2 sensor.

Interesting... The cam sounds a little healthy on duration for a 305, but I'm really interested to see how it works if you do decide on it. The 110 will take more tuning in the puter, so see if you can find someone that can tune the car first hand. Otherwise you will just go back and forth with a mailorder tune. I would advise on bumping up the stall to somewhere around a 2600 minimum for best results. 3.73 gear as well. Good luck and keep us posted on the setup.

I have the same cam in my LB9. I love how it runs. It will need a tune to get it to run right, but you will be able to drive it on the stock tune. Compared to your stock small cam, this will seem like a beast.
