tbi to tpi

i have a lO5 v8 tbi, i am wondering what i would need to get to make it a tpi. i have an 89 camaro rs that used to be a 305 tpi and it still has the wiring harness and i know that i would need to get the tpi set up and an ecu but would i need to get different head and whatelse would i need to get? thanks

If you have the TPI harness, all you will need is the TPI and the chip. I did some research and found the TPI and TBI computers can be used on each other. No need to get different heads or anything else. You will need all the sensors and relays. Also, if you still have the 89 RS, you might need to change the fuel lines, but what you have already should work. Good luck with it.

thanks for that but im just bout to get ride of my car everything keeps breaking everytime that i start thinking about doing anything cause i saved up for a month and then put a few things up then the water pump gasket goes out, yea its not much but there has been so many things break im about to get rid of it.

I did a swap from TBI to TPI ... ask me to do it again and I will say "hell no" !!!!

same block , same heads etc... now its TPI . sorry did the swap like 12 yrs ago and I dont remember how

was the swap that bad or did you not notice enough diffrence?? I to want to change my 92 rs TBI to TPI intake setup and looking for a harness as we speak, and the prom as well I believe the ECM are the same just that proms need to be changed right

You can use you tbi harness but you have to change the ecm they are diffrent
