Need help quick, Racetronix plug play harness fuel pump

I purchased a Racetronix kit about 4 to 5 years ago. Just got around to installing the 255 L/hr Walbro fuel pump at a local shop. I also purchased the plug & play harness kit.

Does anyone know if there are any directions?
Do I have to use the harness kit?

Seems like its optional; only to be used if I need higher voltage at the fuel pump, correct?

I have been on Racetronix web site and can not find any links to help on these matters or instructions.

Yeah the harness is designed to run direct voltage output from the alternator. It will give around 0.5-1.0 extra volts to the pump giving it more output.

You can plug in your factory harness to the pump and run it just like that i do believe, but the hotwire harness feature is nice to have.

One end bolts to the alternator stud output and runs to a new relay at the rear of the car. One end of the wiring harness plugs into the factory fuel pump harness plug thats on the body of the car next to the gas tank. Then there is another connection from the new relay to the pump connector on the tank assembly. Its been awhile but its pretty straight forward. Harness connectors only plug into the correct connection on the car so its impossible to screw it up.

email or call racetronix and they will help you, but look at the page that shows the kit for sale, has a diagram, should be able to copy it and use it

Thank you for the replies. I am going to run the fuel pump thru the factory wiring to get the car back tomorrow morning. Then once at home, I can install the harness. My data scans show 13.9 or so volts for the fuel pump.

Bear in mind that is the V reading at the relay ; not the actual voltage seen by the pump at the other end of the car.Voltage drop , bad connections can result in less than optimum voltage at pump
That is why the harness works; it gives higher voltage direct to the pump .Because of the higher current draw, a heavier feed wire is used

I'm waiting for them to add me to the forum too. Their customer service sucks! I registered for the forum last Thursday and am still waiting to be accepted.

Does anyone have any instructions for the in tank harness part? Really want to get this thing together. Thank you in advance.

I bought the same kit several years ago. Memory is kinda foggy but had similar problems and i think in part it was due to having a replacement sending unit ( as in not OE ACDelco). If it wasn't in the tank I could tell you what I did but read thru this, |I think it might help. https://www.impalassforum.com/thread...ginal.1313840/
