The TBI to TPI conversion. I have a VSS question. Please help.
I am in the process of installing a TPI system in my 1990 Camaro. I am using an 89 "165" ECM and PROM. The harness is from an 88. On the new harness the plug for the VSS goes right down where it should. The only difference from my new harness and the one from my 90 Camaro with TBI is the pigtail is different. The wires are the same color. Can i just cut the pigtail and splice the old one on. Or do I need a new VSS. If so I need one for a 40 or larger tooth speedo gear. Can anyone help me out

thank you. So I should be fine cutting the pigtail off my new 88 TPI harness and replacing it with the pigtail from my old 90 TBI harness?
Any other suggestions....?

If you don't have them already you will need a tpi throttle cable and a tpi kick down cable as the tbi ones are too short

I have the throttle and kickdown cable done and installed. Now since there is no difference between the 89 TPI VSS and the 90 TBI VSS then im gonna cut the pigtail from my 88 harness and splice on the one from my 90 TBI harness

You can't use an '88 harness on a '90 it will cause major problems with the firewall connections.

Have A VSS question, Someone please help me with this.
I have a 90 Camaro with TBI. I installed an 89 MAF TPI system with an 89' 165 ECM using an 88 MAF Harness on my car. I am confused on the VSS because I dont want to make a mistake and by the wrong one. I know the car uses the VSS for important reasons. I figure I should by a VSS for an 1989 TPI Camaro. I just dont know what it looks like. Could someone please help me out here
