Just wondering if you are trying to pull codes with an OBD scanner or using a paperclip to pull the codes? I had an issue with using a OBD scanner not giving me any codes but when I used the backyard mechanic way of using the paperclip to ports A & B I did get codes to come up-sorry if this seems like a silly question...
By the way for me at the time it was my MAF burnoff relay that was bad (intermittent good periods) and after spending no more than ten bucks I was good to go

I tried both ways and still nothing but still Engine light coming on just wont go off...i unpluged my maf and it gave code 33 for it but nothing else, plugged it back in and code went away but light still on.ill try the relays...but i did noticed when i looked at my ecm connectors i had a red wire coming from the blue smaller connector that looked like it had fallen out but their are two other wires it could have came from...

Re: Need Help with Idle and Engine Light
Just recently I had trouble with my idle and the car running rough. Found no codes or even a check engine light... Thought it might be my MAF sensor since I had already changed out my in-tank fuel pump recently along with fuel filter and gas cap, I had also changed out my MAF burnoff relay as well and with each 'maintenance fix' the car ran fine...
So when the car started to run/idle rough I pulled my MAF sensor off and it idled high and check engine light came on and of course code 33. Changed out my 23 yo MAF, cleared the codes and installed new MAF sensor and viola! runs great!
It does sound like you have wiring/connection issues though, hope someone here can help you out

Re: Need Help with Idle and Engine Light
Yup same thing happened for me. Changed out my MAF sensor and it runs great now and gets just a bit more gas mileage. I am down in Phoenix on a month long trip and enjoying the convertible IROC with Nov/Dec weather.
