Strong smell of gasoline

Lately I have noticed a strong smell of gas while driving around town. I have a 1990 camaro IROC with a 305 TPI. What could be the cause of this? I'm new to Fuel Injection. This smell of gasoline is a recent issue that just started happening.

Re: Strong smell of gasoline

Mine did this as well, but there was never a real problem. I've noticed that since I took my air inhjection system off that is is noticebly better, I also gutted my air boxes and that helped, I barely smell it anymore. Yours could be a gas leak(s), clogged lines, bad tank vent, not enough air through the intake, bad evap canister, many, many things. I'd see if you need a tuneup if you're not leaking any gas and have checked your gas tank vent.

Re: Strong smell of gasoline

It could be anything. A common problem is overheated fuel in the tank. Could also be as simple as a porous rubber canister vapour line. The nice thing about fuel is that it's easy to find a leak by using your sniffer.
