'89 305 TPI Cranks but won't Start.
I have an 89 Formula Firebird that cranks over but will not start. I have check the fuel pressure to the rail and get about 45 PSI. I have check with a tester and get good spark. I is acting as if it is getting no fuel into the cylinder. I used a diode and resistor and I am getting a pulse to the injectors (I don't know if the amperage is high enough to open the injectors though.) I have Ohm'd out all the injectors and get 9 - 16 Ohms each. I am at a loss as to where to go from here.
At one point, it would run for a little while then shut off. I could leave it off for a little while, then it would start and run again for a short time. Now, it will no longer start at all. Once in a while, when I crank it over it will give one spurt as if to start. If I shoot ether, the car will run on the ether until its gone. So I am thinking the issue is fuel related, but I am stumped as to where the issue could be.

89 is still MAF. Unplug the MAF sensor with the key off, then try starting the engine(this is default fuel mode). If it starts and runs, you have a MAF issue. You'll need to run through the MAF system tests to determine where the problem is. A rough explanation is that the MAF signal circuit should read about .5 volts KOEO, 1.6v at idle, 4.5v at WOT under load. The MAF needs 12v from the MAF power relay and a good ground on the MAF ground circuit.

I do not know how many of your injectors ohmed out at 9, however they should not test any lower than 12ohm. You should think about replacing them as your coil/coils are "shot"

I disconnected the MAF. It still will not start.
I know the injectors will probably need to be replaced eventually. However, they are expensive and I kind of want to replace them as a last resort. I am hoping it is something less expensive.

Try unhooking your throttle position sensor on the side of your throttle body, I have had this issue with my 350 TPI and it was getting spark and fuel. As soon as I unhooked that sensor it started right up. Just a thought.

Sorry everyone,
I did find out the trouble. There was one bad fuel injector on each side. It was odd for one on each side to go at the same time, but I guess it happens. They measured out good, but something must have been wrong. I replaced them and it fired right up. It still has problems, but nothing a little elbow grease and time won't fix. For those that are curious, the problems are a vacuum leak and injectors that didn't seat right.
