Does anybody sell a stock replacement throttle cable to fit the 85-88 style TPI throttle body?

I have had no luck at any of the local parts houses or the dealer. Any suggestions other than a braided aftermarket one?

 

have you called your local gm dealer to see if 14080202 has been superseded ?

 

The stock throttle cable should be easily available. I recently got one from my local auto parts store as well as Rock Auto. The manufacturer was ATP. I believe the part number was Y373.

 

Looking on rock auto I did not see a listing for the TPI cable but I did find one for the CFI cars which I think it said was 44". I think that is a bit longer than the TPI cable but it should work. Y373 is the part number for that cable.

 

Looking it up by application none of my local auto parts stores or Rock Auto show anything available.

My dealer says 14080202 is discontinued but didn't have a date when that happened. He ran a nationwide search and it shows none on the shelves of a dealer anywhere as NOS.

Rock Auto shows Y373 as for 82 & 83 F-body as an equivalent to GM #14038639. Picture doesn't look correct for early TPI though.

Looks like nobody makes one yet. I might have to find a used one or another application that can work. Guess I start checking out the possible donors at my local wrecking yard.

 

the late tpi gm 10163822 is still available with the 89-92 throttlebdy change

 

or lots of guys parting out tpi cars in the classifieds for a used cable.
