Re: Hard to find TPI coolant Manifold Fitting

It can be new or used, doesnt matter,as long as it works. But,be careful starting to thread it into the manf,it may have metric threads and a standard pipe fitting might not work. IF there are metric pipe threads.

Re: Hard to find TPI coolant Manifold Fitting

I just got back from the hardware store and found something and the plumbing department that would work. Its in NPT fitting that seems to thread in with no problem. now I'm only wondering should I use Teflon tape or some kind of sealant?

What do you think of a pipe sealant? I was thinking of using that. Also what do you think of using that on the intake manifold bolts?

Re: Hard to find TPI coolant Manifold Fitting

I use the paste on all water fittings and I do use it on the intake bolts to keep the oil in the valley and not puddle on the intake.

Re: Hard to find TPI coolant Manifold Fitting

I have found some non hardening pipe sealent in a hardware store. Ive read people us it on intake bolts. I plan on using alittle on the bolts. People seem to bash us of rtv on the bolts but ive see people say us rtv. Im in the middle installing an accel tpi intake manifold. I also still need to find an npt plug to intall on this intake. 85-88 intakes us this port.

Yea temp sensor snaped off when i was removing it. Very brittle plastic after all those years better of replacing it. I ordered a new one off of TPI parts.net
