91 Z dies when hot
So my car will act like its losing fuel pressure and sputter and die when its hot. Short trips wont make it die but long trips on the freeway will kill it after about 45 minutes. Is the fuel pump maybe getting too hot and losing pressure? I can restart the car after letting it sit for a minute or 2 but then it will repeat the sputter and die process until I can let it sit until it is completely cooled off. Ideas? I've replaced a ton of part on this and am about done with it.
Sounds to me like your fuel filter is getting clogged. My father had a Mazda pickup a long time ago, fuel tank was rusting and after driving for about 15-20 minutes the rust would eventually clog up the fuel filter. Once it sat for a bit it would run fine again.

Re: 91 Z dies when hot
Is it a sputter or is it cutting on and off?
Same thing will happen with pickup coils going bad in the distributor.
They don't always just die. Just something else to check
Ohm the injectors before you go that route, stockers should be roughly 16 ohm going off of memory.

I agree with RBob, probably the injectors. I would check the resistance of the injectors with the engine hot and cold. The resistance test isn't 100% guaranteed to show a bad injector because it only checks the resistance of the coil not the mechanical function but it's a good place to start and is quick/easy. And if they are the original injectors you might as well change them because if they aren't bad yet, they probably will be soon.

Hi, My friend had similar problems with V6 engine on 1991 firebird. After he had replaced almost everything related to fuel injection he emptied fuel tank and noticed that there was nearly 2 gallons of water... After cleaning the fuel tank it was OK.

This car had sat in a garage in Arizona for a long time before it acquired it, it was last registered in 96. I have replaced everything ignition related already. It sputters and dies. If I move the accelerator at all, nothing happens with the motor, it just sputters and dies. The first time it did it, I had cruise set at 70 and it just lost power and started coasting. I'll ohm the injectors tonight when its not 150* in my garage.
