I know there are people here that have made their own cold air induction. There is a section of Ram Air / Cold Air Induction articles in the "Technical Articles" section found at https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/tech/. There are some for TPI, some for TBI, some for Birds, and some for Camaros. Hope this helps. I have heard people here say before that the SLP is a nice setup, but not worth the money. Also, they claim that their setups outflow the SLP one.

Don't you have to relocate your battery for the SLP kit? Also, anyone have any pics of home made ram cai on a MAF car?

My cheap alternative to the dual SLP version.

Zepher, I love your CAI setup. I thought about it awhile back but didn't think the trouble of moving the battery was worth it. Would you say it is? How much trouble is it moving the battery?

John, do you have a better pic of where your filters are at? How did you make that split into a T or Y?

I made the "T" with two long elbow 3" PCV pieces cut in half and plastic welded together. Here's more pics.

I plan on moving the battery to the back and running both filters behind the lights and enclose them.

It wasn't too hard to relocate the battery, actually, it was pretty easy.
I just routed the positive wire through the car and into the engine bay. I have to fabricate a block to hook up the new cable to the one that is already on the starter. Most people run the main battery wire to the starter, but I didn't want to get it too close to the headers or y-pipe.

Johns' setup is really sweet. I want one like that eventually made out of aluminium. I've seen one on a 92 Firehawk Racecar.

Zepher, have you ran the car with the SLP dual inlet CAI? Does it give you that 'shhhhh' sound it makes when sucking in air?

John, same for you, do you get that cool 'shhhh' sound it makes while sucking in air?

I know some people are closed minded in here, but I'm gonna say this anyway... I looked at a friend's Civic(SHUDUP) with new intake... OMG , it makes the WHOLE ENGINE *WAY* louder than before! I used to think his exhaust sucked @**, but now it sounds *TOTALLY* different and all he changed was his intake... It sounds like a BEAST now, not the same kinda beast our cars are, but still a beast...

Here is a pic of my homemade CAI. It works very well and looks good!

Here is how I made it and a few more pics of it connected to the stock TPI.

Custom 3.5" Air Intake!

Isn't the MAF in the intake though? How would I go about making custom intake when I have MAF?
