91 z28 timing retarding bad...please help!!!

Can someone read my datalog? check out the timing being pulled with only 25 percent load! This thing is running with not much power. I have replaced the knock sensor, verified voltage at the sensor, made sure the new sensor was between 3500 and 4000 ohms. I'm looking for ideas on what to look for here.

Also, the base timing is set at 6 btdc, and less that 20k on the timing chain.

Re: 91 z28 timing retarding bad...please help!!!

I'm still looking into this issue. I'm fixing to do a temporary knock sensor bypass with the 3.9k resistor on the knock sensor wire, and grounded. It will narrow down my field to the ignition module or the memcal since everything seems to be checking out by the flow charts. Hopefully my findings will help someone else

Re: 91 z28 timing retarding bad...please help!!!

I put in an acdelco d1984a ignition control module, and bumped up the base timing to 10 btdc and it runs great now. Thanks for the few that replied lol
