87 Tpi, what does the computer control?
I just finished up a swap that the previous owner started. It's an 88 Camaro with a 87 5.7 Tpi. I yanked out all of the Tpi stuff, computer and wiring without cutting wires. The tach works, but my oil pressure gauge is stuck on all the way full. Also not sure if the coolant temp gauge works. How can I get my oil pressure gauge and coolant temp to work without the computer? Also will the speedo work?

The oil pressure and coolant temp are not computer controlled. The sender for the coolant gauge is in the drivers head with a green wire.
the oil pressure sender is either on the China wall back of the block or above the oil filter. Tcc lockup if you have a automatic is ecm controlled.

Is the speedo cable drive or do you have a Vss, either way you can get it to work cable drive is direct. Vss uses a magnetic pulse to a Vss yellow buffer box next to the ecms old location then onto the ip.

Correct location for the ops. The Vss wires should be in efi harness. They are purple and yellow.
