Confirming fuel line sizes

I am cutting my oem lines down at the frame rail for -6an lines to my HSR. I ordered 3/8 and 5/16 compression to female an adapters. Will this work?

Re: Confirming fuel line sizes

Your right on the line size. You can also flare the line to an and use a an fitting and tube nut.

Compression fittings are rated for high pressure use

Re: Confirming fuel line sizes

Thanks for the help. I have both compression to -an adapters on the way. Now to route the braided lines away from my longtubes is gonna be the next fun part..

Re: Confirming fuel line sizes

I'm going to need to do this to my fuel lines also but I don't have a clue as to what's required to get the job done. I know my lines are 5/16 and 3/8 like was stated. Any particular way this should be done? Do the compression type fittings tend to leak so a person should use the type that require the lines to be flared?

No, friction is the only thing holding the compression piece to the line. Under pressure it can push out of the fitting. This is why you don't use them for applications like fuel systems

Re: Confirming fuel line sizes

You can flare both lines to 37 degrees. You just need a tube sleeve and nut.

You also need to find a jic 5-6 male to male fitting. This might be the challenge.
parker makes one 6-5 HTX

You can get the an-6 in aluminum or steel. I prefer the steel. More robust.

I'd stay away from compression fittings in this application.....IMO, not a good idea
