we have spark fuel and injector pulse the one thing we can see is our coolant temp switch is broken can this void the engine from idling? we have this mocked up basically we plugged all the vacuum lines with electrical tape and dont have the radiator hooked up yet. but were getting computer power and everything but is the coolant temp sensor needed to idle?

 

The lack of cts should cause a rich running condition. If it’s the cold start timer switch that’s broken you will have alittle harder cold start.

 

It's not rich in any manner but we're not running any coolant but we don't have a second module plugged in. It looks like a smaller version of the computer any ideas?

 

A small box like the ecm ?
Is this a 85 tpi with maf burn off module ?

 

I don't think I ever have seen a 4th gen with a tpi swap.

I have no clue what is going on it starts and stalls I don't have any clue what codes are popping up as I don't have a scanner

 

Do you have the check engine light wires up ?
I have no idea what that silver box is. It’s unrelated to the efi.

A paper clip jumping the aldl a to b will blink the codes.

 

I jumped a and b on the aldl and I got the 3 code 12s which I'm assuming is normal then 3 code 15s and followed by 3 more 12s which I've come to believe is the coolant temp sensor? I'm going to have to continue after work because my battery isn't charged. Any replies welcome.

 

Your correct the code 12 is normal and code 15 for the cts.
