Hi Everyone, i have a 1991 Z28 305 TPI that started to get an erratic idle then stalled, open the hood and the distributor cap, rotor and coil plug were melted, i have replaced these parts as well as spark plugs, plug wires, coil and distributor ignition module.
Engine turns over but will not start. We should i got from here?
Do you now have spark and injector pulse?
have you tried a timing light on it to see how far off timing is ?
just assuming you pulled the distributor and replaced the pu coil.
You might have a ignition lock cylinder reader issue with the vats pellet. If you let looks really worn measure the pellets resistance and get a new key made with the vats ohm reading.
I broke a wired plug while changing sparkplugs on the passenger side, well the plug actually disintegrated, I thought it was the knock sensor but turned out not to be (connector looks the same), any ideas what this connects to?
It must be the cylinder head temp switch for the secondary fan.
located between cylinder 6 & 8.
you can in pin the connector or splice in this pigtail.
