1991 Z28 305 TPI will not start

Hi Everyone, i have a 1991 Z28 305 TPI that started to get an erratic idle then stalled, open the hood and the distributor cap, rotor and coil plug were melted, i have replaced these parts as well as spark plugs, plug wires, coil and distributor ignition module.
Engine turns over but will not start. We should i got from here?

Confirm that you have spark as you turn it over.

Do you now have spark and injector pulse?
have you tried a timing light on it to see how far off timing is ?
just assuming you pulled the distributor and replaced the pu coil.

Update, went to try and start the car and it started!, turned it off and started again no problems.

You might have a ignition lock cylinder reader issue with the vats pellet. If you let looks really worn measure the pellets resistance and get a new key made with the vats ohm reading.

I broke a wired plug while changing sparkplugs on the passenger side, well the plug actually disintegrated, I thought it was the knock sensor but turned out not to be (connector looks the same), any ideas what this connects to?

It must be the cylinder head temp switch for the secondary fan.
located between cylinder 6 & 8.
you can in pin the connector or splice in this pigtail.

Thanks Tuned performance, so it is actually on the head just below the exhaust manifold, will have to access it from underneath car?

If I remember right you will have to get it from under the car.
yes it’s in the head.

Update on replacement ICM, i went cheap and it failed on me (don't even drive it every day), I replaced with an AC Delco brand. hope it lasts.
