HELP!! which 24lb injectors??

So I bought a set of Bosch 3 D3 24lb injectors from south bay a few years back since ive installed them my car it has ran like crap idles surges, stinks richs at idle (LIKE BAD to where i need to change clothes after a drive), spark plugs look fine, sometimes stalls when coming to a stop, no problems at all when getting up to speed or cruising. i have adjusted the fuel pressure up and down and it doesnt make a difference. I had a custom chip made for my setup years ago with my 22lb injectors and the car ran pretty good. I sent my chip back out and had them change the injector size from 22 to 24lb. With these injectors is there something else that needs to be changed in the computer to make these injectors work? if so..is there ANY other 24lb injector thatll work? YES i have checked many times for vacuum leaks (even with smoke machine) all sensors are new and everything was fine until I installed these injectors. Kinda wish I didnt already sell my old ones.. Mainly looking for another set of 24lb injectors that dont require any additional changes to the computer. Thanks

motor is 350tpi mods are:
comp .480 .480 cam 1.6 rockers
aluminum heads
ported edlebrock base
ported slp runners & plenum
52 mm throttle body
hooker LTs & true duals

Re: HELP!! which 24lb injectors??

Voltage offsets probably need to be corrected in the tune. If Southbay can provide those, then retune for those injectors. If not, whatever injectors you do buy, make sure they have offset info included or found somewhere. Otherwise I decided to run stock LT1 injectors and had them cleaned. That way I knew what they were from and found the offsets from known LT1 .bins

Re: HELP!! which 24lb injectors??

Offsets are provided in the diy prom section
that and setting the flow rate may help. But assuming it’s maf will need additional maf tables adjustments.

Re: HELP!! which 24lb injectors??

The Delphi injectors are very close to stock, but with a cam, etc you should do a proper tune either by datalog (Tuned Performance who responded above is your best bet for an e-tune), or put it on the dyno.

Re: HELP!! which 24lb injectors??

yeah its a 89 with MAF. id rather not get into all the tuning stuff. if 24lbers are a project i guess ill through some 22s back in the car was fine with them and the originals had about 200k miles on them so I figured it was time to upgrade. Any 22lb injectors you guys recommend?

Go with the Delphi's. as GD stated they will be the closet to the stock injectors that came out of the car. They will cost you a few extra bucks but I think they are worth the $.

Like mentioned above Delphi’s. You can definitely improve drivability with tuning.

You really would benefit from proper tuning with your list of mods.

Re: HELP!! which 24lb injectors??

funny you mention that i bought the moates stuff to datalog with tunerpro a few years ago but i couldnt get it to connect with my 165 ecm until last monday (turned out I had a bad file) so i downloaded a new one and it connected. ill datalog it these weekend when im off work. ive also been reading up on the ebl from dynamic efi in fact I posted a question about it this morning wondering if theres a bin for 89 350tpi with T5.. that looks like the way to go. Now just to be clear with just datalogging with tunerpro I cant make any adjustments for the injectors its just used for straight datalogging? i know moates has prom burners and all that good stuff but im thinking ebl over all that. I appreciate all the help guys!

Re: HELP!! which 24lb injectors??

You might want to start with apyp and change inject flow rate, offsets, fan switch type and Sa. Datalog then fine tune maf tables.
you will need a g1 or solder in a d2 that’s what I do easier to use a hdr1. A burn2 and a few sst27sf512.

Re: HELP!! which 24lb injectors??

Let me know how I can help. I usually rent out datalog cables and burners because it takes several attempts to get fueling right. A wideband gauge will help but only necessary at wide open throttle and cold start.
will help with all around tuning but reading int/blm can work well to tune.
unfortunately all my equipment is out and I have a list of guys waiting.
but if I do a tune I can modify a memcal with a flash chip and you would just need a hdr1 and burn 2.
the ebl is a great choice but will require some homework reading up on it but there is support from others here.
it maybe just a few hundred more than tuning your stock ecm after you buy the burn2 . Just a thought.
maf works great though. I will walk you through how to use the burner as well.
