Re: Carb'd tpi....it's still a joke

For his next video, I would like to see him try out a crossfire injection system on top of the TPI. Or two TPI manifolds on top of each other, just think of all the low end torque....

He has a LOT of time and effort invested in that failed experiment. Wish I had that much free time to waste....

Re: Carb'd tpi....it's still a joke

Richard is a great guy, and really knows his engine stuff. Always love his videos. Never fails to deliver, and has zero problem doing tests even if they are expected to fail. I'd bet he's looked through plenty of posts on this forum when he's researching...especially with all the TPI stuff he has been doing recently.

Sidenote: I really want one of his "DYNO-SAUR" shirts. I'd wear that everywhere.

Re: Carb'd tpi....it's still a joke

Love Richard's videos, I've learned a ton from him. He really knows his stuff and I think he's doing wacky experiments at this point because he's already done and documented all the normal bolt together stuff 20 years ago.

I'd be curious to see how a 2 barrel sidedraft on the front and back sides of the manifold would do, simply because that's how the manifold was designed to flow and there might be a bunch of turbulent air right where the single carb is on top of the TPI plenum, essentially what Richard mentioned in passing at some point. Although I wouldn't be surprised if that didn't work well either since long runners increase the likelihood of fuel falling out of suspension as it is, and the 180 degree bend of the TPI might just be too tough for fuel and air. Chrysler's old Cross-Ram setup might be closer to what a downdraft carb needs to run well with super long runners.

Re: Carb'd tpi....it's still a joke

thats the guy thats in the 10 times the torque article hes just old and bald now

i like his content on youtube most is just rehash of all his old articles from the 2000s with him talking over but he does new stuff too

some of his test are bias though like the 10 times the torque article only the stealth mini and super ram have 58mm TBs while the T ram is using the stock TB, then he tests a dual plane with a race carb that was not in the original test and from the images in the the video the test 383 engine doesnt even look the same as the one used for the other 10 intakes different heads valve covers ect.

Re: Carb'd tpi....it's still a joke

it is good he is knowledgeable and doing tests, but he doesn't need to behave like a 6 year old kid with all the facial antics and weird voices. An adult acting like a goofball just to make a "fun" youtube video is pretty embarrassing.
