another no injector pulse problem
another no injector pulse problem
so i have this 88 gta 5.0 which has been stored since 2008 with a no start problem, so far i have replaced :
-injectors from southbay
-new dizzy and icm from rockauto
-new fuel pump and filter
-new fuel pump relay
fuel pressure is 40 psi at the rail with key on
verified that i have spark
so now i checked with a noid light that i have no pulse at the injectors , i do have 12v
both fuses are good and receive 12v also
fuse by the battery is also good
tps is at 0.54v
the 2 wires from the ignition coil to the icm are also good
the vats light does not stay on but i dont have a check engine light, doesnt come on at key on, bulb is ok
the other light there also doesnt come on ( i have a digital dashboard )
and the odometer lights up but displays no numbers
so....anybody have some ideas?

I would think that’s close enough to 30hz the ecm
should enable injector pulse.

Maybe check post 4 and test, could be a bad icm

Should be giving the right signal 400 plus rpm it should enable injector pulse.
Do you have a scanner to connect to ecm to see if it’s showing cranking rpm ?
no dash mil light to show any codes ? Vats I’d think would work not sure why no pulse . Grounds tight behind passengers side cylinder head ?
I know you had fuel pressure is ecm
doing a 2 second pump prime key on ?

is there a way to check if it gets power?
grounds are tight.
it does prime the pump also disconnected the fuel line and while cranking the pump pumps fuel no problem

The ecm sounds powered up , but can double check. The ecm has 2 constant hots and an accessory power. B1,C16 orange wires hot all the time a6 accessory power turn on.
the mil is a5. Can always use a test light hooked to power one end other on a5 to see if you dash bulb is burned out and blink codes.

put in the paperclip in port a and b and then looked with the test light but no blinking just constant light also the bulb is ok in the dash

With the rigged up test light ground pin a9 at the ecm. This bypasses the wiring for aldl and commands check engine light diagnostic mode. If still a solid light I’d think the ecm is faulty.

I do have a few 1227165 but cannot test them, I’m not sure of anyone with a used one either. Can always post in classifieds wanted section.
