Looking for fuel pump info for Tpi 5.7
Hi Everyone,
Pulled my 89 GTA out of a 23 year storage. Fuel pump is dead, so I'm looking for a replacement. I tried some searching on here, but finding mostly old posts. Are Delco, Delphi or Bosch still the good brands for a factory unit? Anyone know a part number for the pump only? Napa is only place around me that seems to have pump only in stock.
Looks like they have Delphi, but I'm not sure which model will work. Any help would be appreciated, the car is very mildly modded (exhaust, headers, intake, ignition) , so OE spec pump is fine.

Walbro 255. Buy from a reputable vender (Summit, Jeg's etc) so you don't get a counterfeit. 25116163 is the GM number for OEM replacement. I'd still go Walbro 255.

Thanks for the info. I just want to get something local, so I can get it back together. I can't find anything but Delphi that cross-references locally. Is that a decent brand still?

I second the Walbro 255 vs the Delphi. Last year I installed the Delphi and it had perhaps 1,000 miles on it and failed.

I couldn’t find the Bosch when mine needed replaced, went with the “genuine” GM from AC Delco EP-241 and no complaints. It seems certain AC delco parts are now being rebranded to genuine GM parts at least that’s what I saw on rock auto a few years back when I got mine.
Might be a good idea to pick up a new sock and sending unit while you’re at it in case yours is in rough shape. Also a tank unless you know for sure yours is good but 20 years sitting could have some rust in there.
Not many makers of the sending unit, I went with Spectra and it’s been OK, gauge works almost as well as factory. The tank I went with Dorman and other than it not liking to take gas at full spray for a few months no complaints (oddly it takes gas better now).
