PROM ID??

I’ve been chasing ghosts with my 1988 GTA with 305 Tpi trying to get it to idle properly and I noticed that on my scanner the PROM ID says “2491”. I’ve done lots of research and I can’t find a prom chip with the id 2491 anywhere. It’s a 5 speed with the bw 3.45 rear. Wondering if I have the wrong chip perhaps. I know I have a Cardone Ecu that was replaced in 2005 by the previous owner but I haven’t checked out the prom. Any ideas are very appreciated

Re: PROM ID??

Look at the memcals BCC and please list.
Information I’ve found is that’s a scan id of a 1227747 tbi ecm or 727 3.1 automatic . I’m thinking it’s a AKHK 88 305 manual 2476 prom id

Re: PROM ID??

Here is what I found. Sorry I’m new to PROMs and memcals. What’s a BCC? But yes it has the AKHK 2476. I also found what looks to be a rusted contact on the motherboard in the last picture. I should clean it right?

Rusted pin?

Re: PROM ID??

The bbc or broadcast code is ANHK prom id 2476 scan id in the binary file is 2491. I dont see any tsb regarding this tune as having any issues. It doesn’t appear to be listed in the snap on prom id book but i have a program that does id off bcc.
im not seeing the rust or corrosion. Is it on the memcal header ?

Re: PROM ID??

Yes. Could that be not making good contact with whatever’s on it? Or do they not make contact with anything lol

Re: PROM ID??

I’m not sure but @rbob may know. I think that’s for board testing and not used once it’s in the ecm case .

Re: PROM ID??

Okay so you think it’s safe to say the prom is good? I’m picking up another ecm this weekend just to try it out but I’m not expecting any differences. The car surges once it gets to around 190 degrees. I replaced the iac and tps and can’t reset the minimum idle now bc of the surging at warm temps and sensors unplugged. Was hoping it was the chip or ecm

Re: PROM ID??

Re: PROM ID??

Int is steady 128 when in open loop. The car barely runs in closed loop I’m not sure if I’ve seen the values while in closed. It starts surging at the end of the open loop cycle

blm and int don’t move in open loop, might want to rewatch data, maf gps, blm and int at 165f up. Could be fueling or I’ve seen ignition cause this cracked distributor pole.
