305/5speed Guys....

What have you been getting out of your cars as far as times go? What mods are you working with? I'm trying to find a 91/92 Z with that combo, and i'm just trying to figure out what I have to work with until I get a 350 in there. I posted this at CZ28.com... but not many replies... help me out here! Thanks!

I hear 305TPI 5 SPD's are running mid 14's or a little higher, with some little mods like headers, full exhaust and gears they are probably good for upper 13's. Just a guess from me though.

Not a 5 speed but the same engine. Only difference is if you start w/ a G92 car you don't have to swap the dual cats in. Rob P has a 92 Z vert 5spd / 3.08 gear and has run 14.2 @ 96 w/ just intake porting (and thats still with the stock small cat)

Well, I haven't run it yet at the track, but it will run right with my buddy's 5.0GT Mustang up to 125mph. The stang ran 14.3-14.5 in heat with decent traction. I have headers, no cat, full exhaust, 3" cutout, ported plenum, K&N, coil/wires, fresh tuneup, 6-spd with 3.42's, TPiS air foil, Holley AFPR, Holley255lph, and a few other small things. I think I can get a 14.0 out of this car right now. I am building a LT4hot cammed L98 for it though to take full advantage of my mods I have. I'll let everyone know ASAP what this 305 will run and dyno when I get to in a month or less. Did I mention it has 154k miles on it and is internally stock later

My times and mods are in my sig. Consider, though, these times were run with a totally trashed clutch, a few bad injectors, and the verts are a little heavier.

Yep, best of 14.21@96mph with tb coolant bypass, ported intake, plenum and runners, aluminum driveshaft and hollow small cat through a Dynomax catback (was on the car when I bought it). That was on the stock Eagle 235 GA tires. Of course Maryland Intl Raceway is sea level and a great track. She normally runs 14.5 all day, I just busted the perfect run.

Cool, all that sounds good. I was hoping to be at least in the 14's stock. Glad to see that should be possible.

I got my LG4 5 speed to run 14.94 @91.67mph.
Stock exhaust, Edelbrock 1406 Carb, Edelbrock Performer RPM 7101 Intake.
