A couple of pictures of a custom ram air for the camaro.
I used heater ducting that has a 90* bend and added 4 inched of sheet metal to the one end that goes to the fog light area.
I think it is a good mod and it seems to pull alot more after 70mph.
I hope to get to the track in april and see if the times get better from this.
This is the front with out the fog lights from a little distance.
This is the top where the filters will go. I just did the duct tape to seal the top to the filters but will design something in metal later.
Then here is a closer look at one and you can see the AC metal ducting possibly the smooth bend.
This is a closeup of the front and you can see the ducting.

Looks pretty good. I did the same thing roughly a number of months back. Only difference is that i used a dryer piece that is designed to take the dryer exhaust out of the house and two collectors. I cut holes in the plastic under the nose, bolted the plastic dryer pieces in place and the collectors slid right it making a nice tight fit. Threw in a few bolts for stability and bam, cold air.
I'll need to mod it a bit when i put my 350 in, but it should work.

Cool, get some K&N's now.
I would've painted it satin black and put the lights back though.
I would've painted it satin black and put the lights back though. I was thinking about leaving the lights (fog) in there but thought it would limit the air at higher mph and cause more turbulence as it goes in.
K&N's I got them but they need cleaning, hehe. I'm a little poor out of a job right now so everything is on hold.

Yea, I cut them off completely. Then you have a plastic peice from above the fog lights to the top of the radiator to pervent too much air turbulence in front of the filter, I took this out too. Some guys just cut holes in it and run the tubes to the fog light area.
I haven't noticed any problems with over heating and in fact it looks like it is staying alittle cooler. Go figure.
I drive mine as a daily driver and I have not seen any problems with any weather snow or rain or behind big rigs in the rain.

Hey
How much of a HP gain do u guys think u get from the custom ram air. I am thinking of doing it but am not sure on how and I dont want to bust anything. Is it even worth doing, is there a power difference. I want to do it exactly like the 1st pictures on the post show, Can u guys tell me how to do it like that. And tell me if it is worth it or not. Thanks

Well I haven't gotten to the track to even give an idea of HP gain.
I can feel a difference but "Butt O meters" are not very reliable, hehe.
If you go to "HAWKS Thirdgen Parts" Site the one sponser up top in orange he shows a dyno chart of a ram air kit he sells.
I heard from a friend that you can expect to get 1 tenth decrease in the 1/4 mile and an extra 1 mph. Could be more with other stuff like heads, cam and tuning maybe not.
When I get to the track I'll post, sorry.
Check my web site in my profile I'm trying to write something up.
The parts cost me $20.
