I forget which is which off the top of my head, but the 2 outer wires on the 4 prong connector are the TCC wires. All you need is 12V and a ground and the solenoid engages and the TCC will be locked whenever it is in 2-4 (TCC is isolated in first gear, cannot lock)

If you're going to do it so crudely (not that this is a bad thing if you're on a budget) just be conscious of your use of it. You don't want to leave it locked when you're downshifting or in any kind of stop-go driving. Basically just keep it locked only while cruising and you'll be OK.

Forgot to mention, if you didn;t hack your stock harness to pieces when you put in that carbed 406 getting manual lock-up is easy. The stock harness gives 12V to the solenoid through a brake switch (such that power is cut to it when you hit the brakes), and you can manually ground it with terminal F of the ALDL (top far left hole)

Yeah, hook power and ground to the solenoid and put a switch on one of them so you can turn it on / off. I'm not sure where the confusion is?

How much of the stock harness did you hack. Unless you were really hell bent for chaos, i doubt you removed the brake switch and wiring to the tranny. If thats the case, just hook a wire to the ground wire on the 4 pin connector of the tranny, to a switch, to ground. Otherwise you need to hook up 12V as well.

i took the entire harness out of the car.. i know i know.. theni went back to the harness and took the fan relay and the fuel pump relay hard wired them on switches.. and then i went back found the tranny plug in and went bout 3 foot back into the harness and cut there..
from what i have been told i need to hook the left wire on the very front to postive and the back one which on my plug in i only have 3 wires coming out is the ground.. now do i ground that ground wire to the say the back of the block for a good ground then run the other wire coming from the tranny onto the switch, then run a wire off the other side to to 12v postive just wana make sure i get everything right.. hope i am not bothering u.. never will i cut a harness or wires before checking what i need.. but i must have did somehting right everythign is rewired and works just getting stuff clarified here and i am ready to rock!! thanks ed

I can't verify whther it's the front or back wire that needs to get 12V but other than that your plan is fine. Just don't forget to fuse the circuit in case something shorts, andlike i said earlier, take it easy on it, it was designed to endure harsh shifts and such. But it's great, and actually essential for cruise as it keeps the tranny much cooler since it eliminates all the slip in the converter.

Just to make sure we're straight. You're only using 2 of the 3 wires in the connector. 1 is switched 12, the other ground. The third wire is used by some computers as a 4th gear switch, or other similar fuinctions.

heres a good one the local tranny guy was looking in the haynes manual and it says the the tranny is internally grounded.. so from the haynes manual i have at home here is what i got..
a is purple and goes to the brake switch.. the drk green wire goes to the 4th gear signal and the d wire is tan and black that does to the A/t tcc control.. if this helps people because to me it doesnt mean **** lol.. but from what i have gatherd D: wire is the one to run 12V juice to.. hope i am right going to try that in the morning if anyone can put any input in the diagram that i am looking at is in the haynes manual pg 334
thanks
