700R4 Question

Just wondering what a vette servo would do to help a camaro 700r4, I see that a few people have done it. I'd like to put a shift kit in or something, so if anyone knows what the best thing to do is let me know.

The vette servo will firm up the 2-3 shift. The only REAL shift kit is the TransGo Reprogramming Kit. This is what transfixleo and probuiltautomatics recommend.

the corvette piston is larger and thus hold the band firmer, reducing the risk of slippage.

The Corvette servo applys the 2-4 band when the trans is in 2nd gear. It has more apply area, therefore firmer shifts can be attained. It acts as an accumulator when the trans goes into 3rd gear, it directs more oil to the 3-4 clutches, while the 2-4 band is coming off. This will firm up 3rd gear a little. The Trans-Go Shift kit will firm up the shifts & fix other problems that are inherent in the 700R4.

What is better, the vette servo or the 553 servo? I know that the 553 is quite a bit bigger, but does it make that much difference? Thomas

The 553 is smaller in apply area (the 554 is even worse). The 093/95-1 is the Corvette servo, it has the most apply area for the 2-4 band.

I just got my Transgo kit today with Corvette servo, upshift sleeve, and .500 booster valve. I've done shift kits in the 350 & 400's so I thought no big deal- Glanced throught the destructions that came with this kit and I about **** my drawers. Someone please tell me they're easier to install than the pics and a 5 minute flip through make it out to be.
