A little play in my rear end... (Oh, shut up.)
So, while swapping suspension components, I noticed what some (including me) might consider to be a problem.
Seems that I can move my pass. side rear axle about 1/8 to 1/4" up and down- inside the housing... So obviously that bearing is trashed. My question- what is the possibility that the axle itself is OK? I mean, I am taking it in to the the rear completely redone (new diff, new bearings, new seals, 3.73's...) but do you think I'll need to get axles also?
Oh yeah, and from everything I've read, my 90 Formula 350 *should* have 28 spline axles, correct?
Thanks!!!

I don't know what tolerance those have to be kept at, but I would take a micrometer and measure the bearing surface of the good axle, then measure the bad one and see if they are off. They might be a little but what you would be looking for is ALOT of difference.
Take a look at the "bad" axle, it may be all garbled up so you may not even have to do that much.

I've been running a pair of the 'repair' bearings for around 6 years without any problems. They are offset so the bearing rides on a different part of the axle. If the axles are at all questionable, get the repair bearings.
