Speedometer and speedometer calbe
I wasn't sur eon where to post this so i poste di there.
Ok i installed a speedometer cable on an 82 z28 camaro with a turbo 350 tranmission, when my brother drives it he says the needle reads about 20 mph to high cause he was going down the highway and it read about 70 and he knew he wasn't going that fast. Is thier anyway to fix this or what do i do? Can i adjust it some how? I really don't want to have to take it all apart and get another one it was hard neough getting the first one in. I hope someone can help me. Could i have made a mistake somewhere?

well the speedo cable has nothing to do with what it reads, it either works or not. If the speedo is off it is either because the guage itself is off, or its getting fed incorrect info. Running the incorrect tire size, or if you have had a rear gear change from stock will throw off the speedo.
