best gears for new tremec t 56

i have put in a new tremec t 56 and the car is dog. I am currently running 3:27 gears in a 9 bolt posi. will 4:11 go in and still be able to go on the freeway. currently I run about 70mph @ 2000 RPM. The old t 5 was quicker off the line and i think it had a lower first gear. Any help appreciate before i order the parts from 9 bolt .com

thanks
Dave

I think 4:11's would be perfect for that 6 speed and it would def help your car off the line. If you are afraid it will turn too many rpms go with like 3:73's or something but i think the 4:11's would be perfect. Should be around 3 grand or less at 70

If your using an aftermarket or a '93 model T-56 3.73's work perfect. If it's a used from a 94-up 4th gen 4.11's are the choice 95% go with.

It is a new aftermarket tremec t56 it uses the old t5 belhousing and clutch. i bought it from darkhorse.com for 1800 I can't remeber the gears but they were higher than the old t5 .

Then go with 3.73's. The T-5 has a .68 final OD and the T-56 you have has a .62 final. I've got my 3.73's in already and love them, should work out perfectly.

It should be .62, thats what mine is. If it's .82 send it back, you got the shaft.

2.95 first & .62 sixth. I'd go 3.73's.

The T5 was not a .68 fifth in GM V8 applications.
