GM Pre-Bled Clutch part#
GM Pre-Bled Clutch part#
Anyone out there have the gm part # for the pre-bled clutch setup..for an 89 formula. I went to the dealer today and they said they’d could order one, but it would come dry...He didn’t really seem to know anything....So if anyone has the part # handy, I would appreciate it.
Thanks

i tihnk you're confused, but maybe it's me that is. the clutch is a friction device, nothing to bleed. the hydrolics do need the air removed, but you can't buy it prebled because there are several parts to the system. if you need a hydrolic part buy it and bench bleed it and go from there. gm parts has all the PNs you'd ever need, tell them what you have and what you want. you won't need to tell them a PN, they can look it up.
I always see people on here saying to go to gm, spend the $125 and get the master, slave and hose pre-beld from the factory. There are a bunch of posts on it, just none with the part #. Thanks
that may be but i think if you ordered all the parts you'd get a MC ,slave and a line and i'd bet the line wouldn't be bent all in seperate boxes. if gm does offer something like that the dealer has the pn for it.

No, actually, GM sells the whole thing, with the reservoir, MC, line, and SC, all assembled, filled, and pre-bled. I recently bought one this way.
Unfortunately I don't have the part #. I recall that they had about 5 or 6 different #s, why I can't begin to guess; I just bought the one they had in stock (that seeming better to me at the time than nitpicking over some detail and waiting no telling how long), it worked fine.
OBTW I have a 83 car converted to a hydraulic clutch with a 84 bell housing, or maybe it has a 91 BH in it that I also happen to have, I can't recall; they're the same.

well damn ain't that something. seems like you'd be spending lot of extra money on parts you don't need, but considering the trouble i had with the last hydrolic clutch i tried to bleed it'd be worth it.

Hey thanks for that #. I still might have to order it. I think I figured mine out today though. I wasn't getting any fluid down to the clutch so I inspected the reservoir. It was still full and all the fluid in it was in a rubber boot fitted to it. There were no holes in the boot for the fluid to flow. I removed it and dumped fluid in and it ran out the slave. I bled it with my brother pumping for like 5 min and it works like new. I bled it like brakes, but first pumped the slave by hand, it acted like a syringe and pulled fluid down. Well see how long it lasts? Any ideas on how that boot works???? It was in there for a reason from the factory....
Actually, I wrote a tech article on this including the part numbers
