depend son what lengthg of 350 you have now, i think P/G are length of short tail 350, im pretty sure, so you would be ok if you have short tail now, but if not then you would need a thm200c driveshaft and that shaft is longer than shaft for all other tranny models used in these cars, except for maybe Sag 4 speed
good luck
good luck
so if i have a 6in tailshaft ill be fine but if i have a 9in tailshaft id have to get a drive shaft from a th200c tranny? what cars or where would i look for a driveshaft from a th200c tranny?

If this is for a daily driver I can tell you right now that you're not going to like the powerglide. Although it's a nice race tranny with only one shift, that first gear sucks for street driving.
Stick with the TH350 or upgrade to a TH400. The extra gear will make a big difference.
A 9" tailshaft TH350 is close enough to use the same driveshaft as a 700R4. The 6" tailshaft TH350 needs the longer driveshaft from the TH200. You can find the longer driveshaft in 82-83 f-bodies that came with the 3 speed auto.

powerglide should be 3" shorter, IE; same as 200c which is the only factory 3" shorter tranny installe din third gen cars other than the 4 speed sag in which i am pretty sure is 28 5/8" or so overall length with bellhousing included, same basic length as a 6" th350 and thm200c

Skip the powerglide, unless you run a absolute killer engine, really deep gears, and a light car(you will have to lighten a 3rd gen quite a bit) a powerglide will be slower--race or street. 1st gear is usually 1.76 or 1.82 in the 'glide, which is a bit deeper 2nd gear in a th350's 1.52 ratio. It will almost be like launching in 2nd gear with your current tranny.

well they guy im gettin the engine from said he got into the low 11's on street tires in his old nova he used to have. but if i do stick with the th350 would i have to beef up the tranny any? i just got a tune up and when the tranny was swapped in the guy installed a shift kit. what else could i do?
