9 bolt on a 97 firebird.

hey guys....a friend of mine with a 97 firebird wants to know if it's possible to put a 9 bolt rear (obviously from a 3rd gen) into his car? and if so, what modification would be needed. thx in advance.

Why!! But anyway, the 9 bolt rearend from the 3rd gen is 3 inches narrower than the 4th gen. I do not know what he will have to do to do this. Wheel offset?

All he would need is spacers... just like putting 4th gen wheels on a 3rd gen car.
