28 spline axles??
Any Ideas as to how much these should cost me provided I can locate them and where I can source them from (the bone yards are picked clean up here).
Thanks,

It's extremely difficult to buy just axles for a high-demand rear end at a boneyard. The act of taking the axles out renders the rear end as a whole useless. So, to buy a pair of junk axles, you basically have to buy a junk rear end, take out the axles, and leave the rest behind. And that's exactly what you'll have to pay for.
The boneyards also adjust their prices according to what you ask for. If you go in there and ask for "28 spline axles out of a 1LE or WS6 Z28 or Trans Am", they'll tear more new orifices out of you than you knew could exist. On the other hand, if you go in there and tell them you want a rear end (a whole rear, mind you) for a 90-up Firebird 6-cyl, don't care what it is as long as it's 90-up, you'll pay less for the whole rear because (a) it's something they actually have; and (b) it's nothing really special that the boneyard employees are going to want for their own cars; and (c) you don't come across as someone who is a specialist and hard to satisfy and likely to cause warranty problems. And the axles themselves, the thing you really want, will be identical.
Patience also helps: drive by the yard every day, and stop in the minute you see one of these cars come in on a hook. They have a way of figuring out how big of a hurry you seem to be in, and adjusting the price according to that too.
It's pure, raw capitalism. They will charge what they think someone is willing to pay, in order to make the most money. They will accept quite a bit less than that if they think you won't pay it (since they'll still make plenty of money off of it), so the trick is to avoid tickling their "I smell a sucker" instinct up front.

I'm getting a spare set of 28 spline axle in a trade on Sunday. If anyone is interested, let me know. $100 for the pair plus shipping.

To fit into a third gen diff you'll need to find a set out of a 90-92 third gen. In 93 the axles went 2" longer.
Just trying to find a 90-92 third gen in the junk yard is hard enough.
I have a set of the Tom's axles for sale. They include 3" x 1/2" wheel studs and will work with drum or disk brakes. $500 Canadian plus shipping from Calgary.
Ordering from the states you need to consider the exchange rate, GST, PST, shipping costs, brockerage fees. Those $250 set of axles can cost over $600 Canadian by the time you get them in your hands.

If anyone has contacts near Lake Mary Florida, there is a rear end out of a 92 that was on Ebay and didn't sell. He had the starting price at $15 and didn't get any bids. I emailed him and asked if he would pull the axles and send them to me, but he doesn't have any tools and hasn't a clue on how to get the axles out. I tried to talk him through it in an email, but he won't answer back. So someone will have to go get it in person.
