I have an 83 TA, LG4 with J65 brakes and a 200C. It has 3:23 gears in it from the factory. I have the dealer options list for the car and it shows the 3:23 as being a sport option or something.
I've seen a chart somewhere (on this board I think) that shows what was available for each year.

3,23 is a 7.5" ratio ? i thought that was a borg warner ratio ?
and no build sheets in the 82's ?? so not only is there no SPID label, but there is no sheet either ??
that is NOT a good thing at all...
when was first year for build sheet in F body ? i know there was a sheet in the 83 cars at least the B bodies cuz i keep finding pieces of it under the front seat in the 83 caprice i drive,
thanks for anything further

I found the build sheet (what was left of it) under the passenger side seat stuffed up into the seat springs. Chances are its a 2.73. If you dont know the ratio theres a good chance the rear end has NEVER been serviced, time to kill two birds with one stone.

During a rear disc shortage in '82, WS7-(WS6 minus rear disc) replaced WS6. WS6 was manditory on the LU5.

If it doesn't have a posi, it is a 2.73
'82 LG4 without WS6 or WS7 has a 2.73
'82 LG4 with WS6 or WS7 has 3.23
It is the '82 LU5 that is 2.93 or 3.23

There are plenty out there.
