muncie m-20 , 21

What kind of powerband would be preferable to accomodate a muncie m-20 (long ratio) ?
What is the 'feel' compared to the m-21?
longer gears.. so ______.
I do city driving mostly.. love highway.. dragracing .. buff...
auto-x is a possibility.. but its mainly a street car.
What should I get ?

ps. engine is:
350
9.6 cr
vortecs+ airgap+ rebuilt q-jet
should be around 320hp I think..
torque ??

been a while but i can't or couldn't tell the differance in the m20 and m21. power band has less to do with the trans than the rear gear set ratio does. i have a 3:73s in my truck behind a wct5 and a 4.3 and it pulls as hard as my ( or similar to) 68 m21 w/4:56. the point is my truck feels like it has all the power in the world and it's a more or less stock v6.

Ahh, I see.
I assume with wide ratio you wont
have to shift as soon as close one..
And for some reason i feel that a wide
ratio tranny would absorb less stress that a
close one.. cant explain why.. maybe im wrong.

they both can put up with about the same power but if your going to go with the m 21 i would skip it and get a m22 now thats a trans you can beet the snot out of and have it say that all you got

for what a m22 would cost i'd buy something a bit more modern and more adaptable to a thirdgen f body, like tremac.

I thaught the M-20 had wide ratio, it appears to
have the same as the M21-22...
I love crusing so it makes sense
to get a tranny with wide ratios..
to find it might be a challenge.. but we'll see..

Thanks for the replies !!

ps. whats the diffrence between the T10 and muncie ?
