will a V6 700r4 work with a V8?
The bolt pattern for a 700-r4 from behind a 4.3 Chevy V-6 as used in an Astro van is the same as a small block Chevy. You should put the governor from the V-8 tranny in it to maintain similar shift points.

Strange, but true. The V-6 used in f-bodies has a different bell
housing bolt pattern than that of the 4.3 V-6. Stranger still is
that GM chose to use only the Chevy bellhousing pattern on the
700-R4. I'll never understand that one! :lala: :lala:
